The Buchan Building

The newly built, LEED Gold Certified Buchan Building is an ideal venue for small conferences from 10 to 250 participants.  Greet and register your guests in the spacious two-story atrium.  Then invite them into the Buchan Reception Hall, a 2600-square-foot, modern and naturally well lit space that accommodates 160 people seated or 250 people standing.  The hall has two moveable partitions creating various combinations of available space. It also has a built-in roll down screen for presentations and film screenings.  Host your breakout sessions and workshops in over ten multi-purpose rooms that surround the Buchan Reception Hall.

The Executive Conference Room is surrounded by glass and overlooks the courtyard. It seats 12 people around a large conference table. 

Over ten multi-purpose rooms are distributed on three floors of space.  Each of the rooms accommodates up to 75 people. Several large classrooms have moveable partitions creating various combinations of space.  Many of the rooms are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, allowing natural light to permeate the space and providing spectacular views of the city.

In between sessions, take a break in one of our adjacent, enclosed outdoor courtyards.  Both are landscaped with native plants, one has a stone laid labyrinth and the other an original multicolored mosaic.


Combine the space of the Buchan Building with the Eliot Chapel, Main Street Sanctuary, Fuller Hall and/or the Channing Room to accommodate up to 900 guests. Access both the Main Street Sanctuary and Eliot Chapel with a Remote Live Feed.  Record your event in the Main Street Sanctuary while it plays LIVE on a ten foot by ten foot screen in the Eliot Chapel.

The Eliot Chapel


Located just down the hall from the Buchan Reception Hall is The Eliot Chapel.  Built in 1924, The Eliot Chapel is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The chapel accommodates up to 250 guests and offers excellent acoustics for its grand piano and pipe organ as well as for performers and lecturers. Adjustable stage lighting, chandeliers and sconces help create a warm atmosphere for your event. Two podiums, a ten foot by ten foot screen and various microphones are available.

The Main Street Sanctuary

Envision your 700 guests at the opening ceremonies of your conference or seminar in the Main Street Sanctuary.  Upon entering the sanctuary, welcome your guests in the ample sized Narthex.  The Main Street Sanctuary provides theater style seating, with a balcony and historic 1880’s pipe organ and grand piano framed by a walnut and gold leaf presidium arch.

The Channing Room


Adjacent to the Eliot Chapel, the Channing Room, a formal parlor, is an ideal space for  presenters to gather before and after sessions, formal meetings or workshop sessions. It seats up to 30 guests and features original 1924 architectural details in a formal, parlor-type setting. 

Fuller Hall


This informal hall creates a comfortable atmosphere for up to 250 people standing.  The ever changing Art Wall provides a provocative backdrop for speakers.  Located beneath the Main Sanctuary and adjacent to a kitchen, this space is ideal for luncheons and larger workshop sessions.
